The Southwick Estate

Regenerating the Southwick Estate

Adur District Council and Adur Homes are in the process of reviewing the Southwick Estate and looking at the options to ensure homes are fit for the future.

We have been working with residents since 2021 to learn their thoughts on what they’d like to happen. The majority of blocks have told us they’d prefer redevelopment of the buildings, and so this is being recommended to the Council, along with a formal ballot. For further detail on the feedback and next steps read our latest newsletter.

If you would like to speak to a member of the team about this process, you can contact our Resident Liaison Team.

Interim Works Programme

In addition to the long-term redevelopment plans, some works are needed on the estate to make sure residents are living in safe homes in the meanwhile. These will address a number of areas relating to health and safety. These include the condition of windows, fire exits, damp penetration and balcony works. We intend to start these works in spring 2024.

For more information on the interim works, please email us.

Resident Working Group and Leaseholder Sub-group

We are always looking for residents and leaseholders to join our Working Group. This is the perfect opportunity to get more involved with the conversation and shape the future of the Southwick Estate.

Our Working Group is an invited group of a maximum of 25 residents, and the project team who meet monthly to review and discuss the project. We also hold regular Leaseholder Sub-group meetings to specifically discuss queries relating to leasehold flats.

The meetings are held at 6pm in the Southwick Community Centre. If you are interested in joining, please contact the Resident Working Team.
